Mr. M.R. Shah assumed duties as the Chairman of Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka PLC and addressed the staff of its subsidiary - Merchant Credit of Sri Lanka Ltd on 20th May, 2010.
During his inaugural speech, Mr. Shah stressed three points where the progress of any organization stands - honesty, being transparent and commitment and requested the members of the staff to comply with these principles.
He further stressed the need to focus on lendings to the agricultural sector, other SMEs and contributions to the country's economic development.
