Mr. M. R. Shah assumed duties as Chairman of Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka Plc and addressed the staff of its subsidiary – MBSL Savings Bank Ltd., which is a licensed specialized Bank supervised by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, on the 19th May 2010.

Mr. Shah is a former unionist who led the Ceylon Bank Employees’ Union (CBEU). He as a Unionist understands the needs of every employee stated at the welcome ceremony held at MBSL Savings Bank, that he would treat every employee equally and ones honesty, transparency and commitment to their work is reflected in the progress and prosperity of the organization.

The MBSL Savings Bank has been serving their clientele for the past 8 years with a net work of 12 offices Island wide in the major cities of Sri Lanka. With the new appointment of Mr. M.R.Shah, the Bank is looking forward to reach new heights in the banking sector.
