Janaka Ratnayaka appointed Chairman

Chairman/Managing Director, Computer Island Ltd. (CIL) Janaka Ratnayaka has been appointed Chairman, Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka by President Mahinda Rajapaksa. Here the newly appointed Chairman assumes duties. Ms. W.A. Malani, Director, Dr. Ranjith Bandara, Director and Gamini Karunathilake, CEO Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka were also present.

Ratnayaka is a pioneer in Sri Lanka's IT Industry. He pioneered assembling computers locally and distributing them in Western countries under the brand name "CIL" computers where he generated employment opportunities to Sri Lankan youth.
